Even though the holidays can get hectic with too many events to attend, the Memphis Bailliage Chaîne members look forward to the annual black-tie event of fine wine, fine food and celebration of new member inductions and promotions of certain members. Such was the case on Sunday, Dec. 15 in the River Hall venue with the Mississippi River lighted bridge as a backdrop. While we did not have snow this year, the aesthetics heightened everyone’s senses to enjoy the Hors D’oeuvres in preparation for the induction ceremony and ultimately the dinner at Paulette’s Restaurant.
The Chaîne was joined by William A. (Tony) Hirsh, Bailli Provincial to perform the perfunctory induction of four new members and promotions of two others. Following the presentation of the necessary ribbons and certificates, the members moved to Paulette’s Restaurant to enjoy an exquisite four-course meal prepared by Chef de Cuisine Kevin Cobbins and his staff, with a final cheese course flown in from France, all paired perfectly with selected wines.
The dinner, the wine, the venue, the ceremony, and the attendees made for another memorable fun evening and sent everyone home smiling, ready to enjoy the rest of the Holiday Season.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year 2020 from the Memphis Bailliage and Bailli George Chandler.
