On the night of Sunday, Dec. 15, 2019, the Bailliage de Central Coast held a Holiday Sparkling Wine Reception to present a donation to the Hospitality Program at Cuesta College of San Luis Obispo County. The event, attended by 25 guests and members, took place at the beautiful tasting room of Rava Wines in Paso Robles, California. The donation was made possible by combining the contributions raised at an elegant fundraising dinner held on July 31, 2019 at JUSTIN Vineyards & Winery, with a generous matching donation from The Chaîne Foundation, totaled $6,000.

Donation to Cuesta College’

The donation will be used to start a Chaîne des Rôtisseurs micro-internship program at Cuesta College where hospitality students can participate in paid work directly related to their major, thus giving them experience while simultaneously helping them financially. A portion of the grant will also be used to assist with transportation cost to allow qualified students to attend hospitality and culinary classes at the college.

At this special event guests enjoyed a selection of wines from Rava Wine’s collection of Methode Traditionelle sparkling wines paired with and array of appetizers created by our Vice Conseiller Culinaire, Jeffry Wiesinger, assisted by Chef Thomas Drahos. The creative selection included Seared Ahi Tuna, Champagne Poached Prawns with Charred Lemon Aioli, Smoked Wagyu Beef Crostini with Shaved Parmesan and Capers as well as Osetra Caviar Deviled Eggs and other creative pairings to the excellent sparkling wines.
